This article’s purpose is to re-frame one of the most important and oldest professions in a new light. My wife has not chosen to become a “stay-at-home mom.” She has not “given up her career.” She would never say that she “doesn’t work.” And regardless of what the IRS says on April 15, she wouldn’t call herself a “dependent.” She has chosen career motherhood.
